What kind of laserbrain would pay $7500 for Star Wars on VHS? or even $3000? Especially when another seller is offering what he claims is a privately owned (never rented) copy which was purchased new in '82 and the bidding is currently at only $1.04.
The rental library version was released in May 1982 on VHS and Betamax. The tape had a rental-only window until September of that year, but many retailers jumped the gun.
There should be a sticker in the lower, right corner on the back. All these rental copies carried an individual serial number to help track them. There should be a corresponding sticker on the actual tape.
These show up every so often, and almost always in excellent condition. The box was made of sturdy plastic, with the artwork sealed inside.

For VHS (and a 30 year old tape at that), I think the quality is pretty awesome. But not worth $7500 in my opinion. Cast your vote in the poll (see sidebar ->).
